Dogfessions is going to be a book from Harper Collins Publishers, available at your local bookstore in May 2008. Want to see your dog in a Dogfessions book? Send in your Dogfession for possible inclusion in a sequel!

Dogfession: noun; A confession concerning canines; a secret in your heart that you'd only share with your dog; or a secret you wouldn't want your dog to ever find out!

WHAT IS DOGFESSIONS?


Dogfessions is a "pet project" for dog lovers who have a secret, a weird fact, or a funny story to share about their best furry friend, but don't quite know who to share it with. We all have secrets about our dogs. It's a relationship like any other. We keep secrets from our dogs and we tell them our secrets -- dogs aren't going to tell anyone. We think and feel things about our dogs that we wouldn't want anyone to know, and often, that we wouldn't even want our dogs to know!


I thought it would be fun to know what some of these "dog secrets" were, so I wanted to give people a forum to show the world their secret doggie confessions -- their Dogfessions. Dogfessions is also a great place for the dogs themselves to share their secrets too (through their owners, of course -- you have to help Fluffy with the scissors and glue stick).


The Dogfessions themselves are decorated 4x6 postcards (or anything that’s about the size of a postcard, such as a photo or paper that you trim to size) that includes a “dog secret.” You can send them as postcards, but it’s recommended that you put them in an envelope to protect them, and you can put more than one in an envelope. Use paper, photos, arts and crafts supplies -- anything you need to get creative. $1 for every Dogfession received goes to helping shelter dogs. There’s even a Dogfessions book coming out in June 2008, and I’m looking forward to seeing your Dogfessions for a sequel! Your dog can be famous! This site is a labor of love and creativity -- please join in to show other dog enthusiasts that they're not alone in their weird, dark, funny, sad, and wonderful confessions about their dogs. This site started on a whim and has become a place where dog lovers can chime in about their best furry friends (or even that annoying barking dog next door).
